Learn about the importance of managing chalk grassland by getting involved in the clearance of scrub material (small bushes) on the chalky slope of this iconic Chilterns spot. Enjoy the stunning views while getting pysical and meeting new people. All your hard work will help to reduce soil enrichment and shading on the grassland, benefiting special chalk grassland flowers and the animals associated with them.

Please dress appropriatley for working outside.

Tools, PPE and training will be provided on the day – no previous experience necessary!

Please bring any refreshments for the day.

There is parking at Whiteleaf Cross car park on Peters Lane.

Event Details

Come along and enjoy a chance to go chalk stream dipping. Wear wellies or water shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a bit wet. We’ll supply the nets and all the other equipment you need.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. You remain responsible for supervising your own child(ren) at all times.

The closest postcode is HP7 0HL. Entrance to the Pay & Display car park is between the Tesco’s roundabout and the war memorial. Walk towards the back of the carpark and you will see the path on the left to Church Mead.
