We all love having the children home for the summer holidays, don’t we? But there will always be that moment when they utter those words that parents dread, “I’m bored!”
So here’s a little something that you can refer to, the Local Directory Guide to Entertaining the Kids!
During the summer holidays, kids between the ages of 8 – 12 can take part in hands-on projects at Apple stores across the country, choosing one of three programmes and spending 90 minutes per day for three days immersed in their chosen subject.
One of the three programs includes Coding Fundamentals and Programming Robots, offering kids the chance to enter the fun-filled world of coding, by learning to program their very own Sphero BOLT robot. They’ll partner up for fun activities to program their Sphero BOLT to change colours, create sounds, complete challenges, and even apply their coding skills to tell their own story.

To the swimming pool…and beyond! Disney-inspired swimming sessions are set to be a splash hit with families in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Parents can keep the kids healthy, happy and active this during the holidays by heading to the pool for a Disney-inspired family fun swim session.
Some of Disney’s most-loved characters will inspire the activities for the sessions, taking place at more than 250 pools nationwide; games inspired by the new release of Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 4, Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Friends from October and then games inspired by key characters from the upcoming Disney Frozen 2 from February 2020.
Teaming up with Swim England to encourage families nationwide to enjoy the water, the new year-long programme forms part of Disney’s Healthy Living initiative with sessions running until June 2020.
Families keen to dive into summer with water-based fun perfect for 3-11 year olds can head to https://www.swimming.org/Disney to search for their nearest swimming pool offering the sessions. There are plenty of choices across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
How about booking the children an end of school treat?
How about it coming in a big envelope addressed to them?
Once you buy them, they are valid for 10 months from the date issued. The meerkat experience can be done seven days a week throughout the year at 11.15am or 3.30pm and the karting runs at least once a week (could be a weekend or a weekday) throughout the year.
